I see SaaS metrics as a report card for the company. They are one of the fairest ways to measure the financial efficiency of the company. While there are many SaaS metrics, a company needs to ensure that these metrics form the foundation of its operations; if they are not in order, nothing else really matters.
Revenue Metrics:
MRR & ARR
Net Revenue Retention (NRR)
Usage Metrics:
Usage Volume (what's your unit of measurement, for instance, API calls)
Daily/Monthly Active Users (DAU/MAU)
Conversion Rate
Customer Metrics:
Customer Lifetime Value (CLV or LTV)
Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) or Average Revenue Per Account (ARPA)
Customers by ARR Band
Efficiency Metrics:
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
CAC Payback Period

This is the most recent SaaS dashboard I created for the board and C-level executives. Using this report, the company has shifted its priorities for better ROI.
